Chauna B. The Culturally Inspired Tattoo Artist

As one of the tattoo artists in the modern-day, I’ve always had great respect for this ancient art form. I am constantly inspired by indigenous methods of tattooing and ancient or time-tested symbology.

Because my enthusiasm is rooted in the origins of this art, my portfolio reflects designs by tribal patterns across different cultures, geometric and line-based designs, plant life, and a passion for black ink.

I think that the striking contrast between one’s skin tone and the black ink is one of the true beauties of tattooing. I also have plenty of examples of the color-rich tattoo, highlighting what is possible when color is on the minds of the client and the artist.

My Experience

I began tattooing in 2008 in Washington, DC. Over the years, I’ve been able to dedicate myself to my craft and had the opportunity to learn from various artists with more than 50 years of collective experience.
